Ministry of Health Launches Free Hydrocele Surgeries in Grand Kru

By Patrick Teah

Grand Kru County—The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Grand Kru County Health Team, has launched a one-month free surgical outreach program targeting individuals suffering from hydrocele across the county.

The initiative, which officially commenced on April 1, 2026, aims to provide critical surgical care at no cost to affected residents, many of whom have limited access to specialized medical services.

Health authorities in the county confirmed that all procedures under the outreach will be conducted entirely free of charge, emphasizing that beneficiaries will not be required to make any form of payment.

Residents living with hydrocele are being urged to take advantage of the program by visiting designated health facilities for screening and subsequent treatment.

Officials described the outreach as part of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing efforts to expand access to quality healthcare and bring essential surgical services closer to underserved communities.

The program is expected to run for one month and will cater to patients from various parts of Grand Kru County.
