The Noble Second Floor (NSF), a dynamic organization and network of law students, lawyers, and judges committed to promoting academic excellence in the study of law, public legal education, and charity, has officially handed over the newly refurbished RH-1 classroom at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law (LAGSL), main campus on Capitol Hill.
The dedication ceremony was attended by faculty, students, and invited guests.
The event also featured the presentation of janitorial supplies to the law school, marking the beginning of a new academic year.
Josiah Maxwell Monmia, President of the Noble Second Floor, highlighted the transformative work done on RH-1, emphasizing its role in fostering a conducive learning environment.
“A few months ago, RH-1 stood as one of the spaces at the law school in need of attention, worn, outdated, and lacking the comfort and functionality necessary for effective teaching and learning.
Today, it has been transformed into a modern, welcoming, and fully functional classroom. With improved seating, enhanced lighting, a refreshed interior, and a more conducive layout, this space now reflects the ambience and standard of excellence we believe every law student deserves,” Monmia said.
He further emphasized the organization’s commitment to both the academic and societal mission of legal education.
“Supporting colleges and institutions dedicated to legal education is an investment in society itself. Giving back is not optional; it is a duty. This project is therefore more than just infrastructure; it is a reflection of who we are as the Noble Second Floor. We are a body that believes in action over words.
The quality and attention to detail demonstrated here represent excellence, dedication, and our unwavering commitment to service and impact.”
Monmia acknowledged the efforts of the project committee and thanked the law school administration for their collaboration.
“To all Noble colleagues, Bravo! We did it,” he said.
Madam Nevida Risk, Dean of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, praised the initiative and encouraged the organization to expand its impact beyond infrastructure.
“I would like to say thank you to the Noble Second Floor. For me, I think this is a great step. I don’t think there’s any organization like the Noble Second Floor in tertiary institutions. The law school doors are open to you. Your intervention should not only focus on infrastructure, but you should also look at academia and the long-term positive existence of the law school. I’m encouraging you to reach out to more lawyers to join you,” she said.
The refurbished RH-1 classroom is now expected to serve as a hub for academic excellence and a tangible reminder of what collective effort and vision can achieve within the LAGSL community.
