Liberia: Boakai Ignites ARREST Agenda Implementation

Monrovia- President Joseph Nyuma Boakai took charge in catalyzing the implementation of the Agriculture, Road, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation & Tourism (ARREST) Agenda during a pivotal assembly with legislators and executives.

Held in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, the gathering aimed to foster collaboration and define a strategic pathway toward achieving Liberia’s crucial developmental objectives.

In a concerted effort to invigorate national progress, President Joseph Nyuma Boakai orchestrated a brainstorming retreat attended by the Rescue Mission Legislative Caucus of the House of Representatives alongside government officials.

The assembly, as disclosed by an Executive Mansion release, underscored the imperative of collective action to propel Liberia towards sustainable development.

The one-day session convened on Saturday, April 20, 2024, served as a platform for Executives and Legislators to synchronize their efforts in advancing critical national priorities.

President Boakai, in his address, underscored the pivotal components of the ARREST Agenda, emphasizing the importance of cohesive messaging and garnering legislative support for nation-building endeavors.

Highlighting the transparent nature of the ARREST Agenda, President Boakai emphasized its role in uplifting Liberians from poverty to prosperity.

He advocated for cohesive interagency relationships to garner broader support and achieve the outlined targets effectively.

The collaborative spirit permeated the discussions, with over 20 members of the House of Representatives engaging in deliberations on legislative strategies and broader governmental development goals.

The session culminated in the issuance of a joint resolution, signifying a unified commitment towards the realization of the ARREST Agenda.

The resolution, endorsed by representatives of various political factions, unequivocally affirmed the suitability of the ARREST Agenda in addressing Liberia’s contemporary developmental needs.

It emphasized collaboration, consultation, and a shared sense of purpose as indispensable elements for its successful implementation.

Furthermore, recognizing the importance of widespread support, the parties resolved to mobilize colleagues within the Legislature and across diverse segments of society to embrace the ARREST Agenda.

To facilitate seamless coordination and communication, the resolution outlined recommendations approved by President Boakai.

Deputy Minister Cornelia Kruah-Togba was designated as the Liaison to oversee coordination efforts, underscoring the commitment to effective interagency collaboration.

The resolution’s signatories, including Representative Richard N. Koon, Acting Minister Samuel A. Stevquoah, and Honorable Ben Fofana, exemplified a cross-sectional endorsement of the ARREST Agenda.

The collaborative efforts exhibited during the assembly underscored a collective commitment to advancing Liberia’s developmental agenda. With President Boakai at the helm, the ARREST Agenda stands poised to usher in a new era of prosperity and progress for the nation.
