Armed Intruders Storm Cuttington University Female Dormitory, Students Raise Safety Concerns

By Archie Ayouba Boan

More than 100 female students at Cuttington University’s Rally Hall Dormitory were left shaken early Thursday morning after armed intruders reportedly broke into the facility and stole personal belongings, including laptops and other valuables.

The incident, which allegedly occurred around 4:00 a.m. on April 30, 2026, has sparked serious concerns about campus security and student safety at one of Liberia’s leading private universities.

According to accounts from students, the attackers forced their way into the dormitory while residents were asleep. Some of the students described the experience as terrifying and said they felt completely unprotected.

In video footage obtained by Verity News, distressed students can be seen speaking about the incident and demanding urgent action from the university administration. One student, speaking through tears, said:

“There is no security. This place is not safe. We could be raped. We could be killed. We are unsafe and unprotected.”

The student added that repeated complaints had been made to the university administration about security concerns prior to the attack.

The students also alleged that the attackers were armed with weapons, including machetes, and moved from room to room during the raid.

“Criminals armed with weapons, including machetes, forcibly entered on us while we were asleep in the dormitory,” another student said in the footage. “They took our laptops and other valuables.”
