Authorities say the alleged incident occurred on May 9, 2026, while the victim was being held in police custody under state protection.

Following an investigation by the Women and Children Protection Section of the Liberia National Police, Weah was formally committed to the Sanniquellie Central Prison on Monday, May 18, 2026.
