The flag of Liberia is again waving high as one of its sons has earned a Master of Science in Public Health from the prestigious John Hopkins University, the best public health university in the United States of America as of 2026.

Dr. Joseph N. Topor, an alumnus of the St. Mary Catholic High School in Duala and the University of Liberia, has since received a dossier of congratulatory messages on social media from Liberians, including fellow scholars, at home and abroad.

“Congratulations to Dr. Joseph N. Topor on earning a Master of Science (MSc.) in Public Health from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Topor is not just a scholar par excellence, but he’s an astute mentor and teacher. He is the teacher of our teacher (Dr. Augustus J. Panton), and coach of our coach ( Dr. AJP),” scholar Nimely Chea said.

“It is with immense pride and joy that I congratulate my coach, my mentor, Doctor Joseph N. Topor on earning a Master of Public Health from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. You once challenged us to push past our limits, reminding us that greatness is never given — it is earned, rep by rep, step by step,” scholar Fred C. Farwenel shared.

“Hearty congratulations, scholar Joseph N. Topor. Super proud of you, coach,” scholar Augustus Panton commented.
