‎Groundbreaking Without Action: Citizens Blast Rep. Jacob Debee and Rep. Musa Bility Over Abandoned B’hai Road Project

‎Citizens of Gbarzon and surrounding communities in B’hai Administrative District, Grand Gedeh County, are raising serious concerns over the deplorable condition of roads linking Sienewen to Gboe and Ploe, months after a much-publicized groundbreaking ceremony by Representative Jacob Debee and CMC political leader, Rep. Musa Bility.

‎Residents say since the January 2026 groundbreaking ceremony, the road project has failed to move beyond promises, with no construction work yet initiated on the corridor.

‎Citizens of Sienewen and Nenmenwen Towns described the ceremony as a “political trick” allegedly intended to deceive struggling communities ahead of future political engagements.

‎Speaking to reporters, the Town Chief of Nenmenwen, Mr. Othello Zeah, disclosed that since the groundbreaking event, no representative from the CMC political establishment has returned to assess the road or provide updates to residents.

‎According to him, Musa Bility had assured citizens that work on the project would commence in February 2026, but several months later, nothing has materialized.

‎The Youth President, along with other residents, lamented that the terrible road condition is placing the lives of pregnant women and sick citizens at risk, as many are unable to reach nearby clinics in time for medical treatment.

‎Residents revealed that several women have reportedly been forced to give birth while being transported on the damaged road due to the lack of proper access.

‎“The road you see in this condition was repaired by ourselves and some Burkinabes living here. We contributed our own money to hire a motor grader so our children and pregnant women would stop suffering,” one resident said.

“The plank bridges you saw on the road were also built by us. Nobody gave us a single cent to do it,” another frustrated citizen added.

‎Citizens further accused both lawmakers of abandoning the process entirely after the groundbreaking ceremony without offering any explanation or progress report to the communities affected.

‎The residents are now calling on Representative Debee and Musa Bility to urgently intervene before the situation escalates beyond control.
