Who should be blamed if students fail Physics and Mathematics as WAEC boss attributes ‘no calculators’ to high freight costs?

By Archie Ayouba Boan

The Head of the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Liberia Office, Mr. Dale Gbotoe, says calculators were not provided to students due to high freight costs.

The National Student Command of Liberia (NASCOL) issued a statement accusing WAEC of intentionally failing to provide calculators to WAEC candidates, describing the situation as deeply troubling and unacceptable. “The Government of Liberia committed resources to the exams, including the provision of calculators for students.”

The Principal of the William V.S. Tubman High School, Mr. James N. Fallah, described the situation as very concerning and troubling, especially for Physics and Mathematics examinations.

To prevent mass failure, should WAEC candidates retake the exams that required calculators, but they did not have calculators? Have your say.
