GBARNGA, Liberia — Police in Bong County have arrested and charged three men in connection with an alleged armed robbery that occurred on the night of June 3, 2026, in Gbarnga.
The suspects, identified as Robert Nuetah, 19, Dennis Tokpah, 25, and Daniel Garkpor, 21, have been charged with armed robbery and theft of property, according to James Kartoe, Commander of the Crime Services Division of the Liberia National Police (LNP) Bong County Detachment.
Speaking to reporters, Kartoe said the arrests were made on June 4 following a complaint filed by a woman who reported being attacked near the Place to Be Night Club in Gbarnga.
Police allege that the three suspects threatened the victim with knives and forcibly took her mobile phone and other valuables before fleeing the scene. Following an investigation, officers apprehended the suspects and placed them into custody.
The accused are currently being held at Gbarnga Central Prison pending court proceedings.
Meanwhile, Bong County Police Commander William W. Johnson announced plans to increase police presence in identified crime-prone areas across the county as part of efforts to deter criminal activities and enhance public safety.
The case is expected to proceed through the judicial process, where the suspects will have the opportunity to answer to the allegations against them.
