A Liberian student, Augustine Jahn Goe, has successfully graduated with a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Petroleum Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras in India.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Liberia, Goe secured a fully funded scholarship to pursue advanced studies in India, marking a significant step in his academic and professional journey.
During his studies, he developed strong expertise in both conventional and unconventional petroleum resources, equipping him with skills relevant to Liberia’s emerging energy sector and the global shift toward sustainable energy solutions.
Speaking about his experience, Goe described his training at IIT Madras as transformative:
“My academic journey at IIT Madras provided me with a deep understanding of petroleum exploration, drilling engineering, reservoir management, production optimization, and facility design. The rigorous coursework, combined with independent research culminating in my thesis, strengthened my analytical and problem-solving abilities.”
Goe has now been officially conferred with an M.Tech degree in Petroleum Engineering from one of India’s top-ranked institutions. He is expected to return to Liberia to contribute to the development of the country’s energy sector.
Congratulations to Augustine Jahn Goe on this outstanding academic milestone.
