The Women NGOs Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL), in partnership with several organizations, has begun a baseline assessment for the PeaceGen Project in five counties across Liberia.
The project is supported by the European Union and the Embassy of Ireland in Liberia and seeks to increase the participation of women and young people in peace-building, reconciliation, and transitional justice initiatives.
As part of the assessment, teams are conducting surveys, stakeholder mapping, and focus group discussions in Bomi, Bong, Montserrado, Nimba, and Sinoe Counties.
Community leaders, residents, youth groups, and other local stakeholders are sharing their views and experiences to help identify key challenges and opportunities for strengthening peace at the community level.
According to project organizers, the findings from the assessment will help shape future activities and interventions under the PeaceGen Project.
The initiative is expected to support ongoing efforts to promote reconciliation, encourage community participation, and strengthen peace-building processes across Liberia.
