River Gee County | July 28, 2026 | Dr. Thomas Wilbur Davis II, a youthful Liberian scholar and former student leader of William V.S. Tubman University, is expected to contest the Representative seat of River Gee County electoral district 3 in Liberia’s 2029 general and presidential elections.
Although Dr. Davis has not yet made an official declaration of his candidacy, supporters and well-wishers have already begun grassroots mobilization efforts across the district in what many residents view as the early stages of a potential engagement.
The ongoing outreach initiatives include the donation of sanitary materials to local health facilities, community clean-up exercises, and other volunteer activities aimed at promoting public health, improving sanitation, and strengthening relationships with residents across the district.

Dr. Davis possesses an impressive academic background as he earned a Doctorate in Plant Health (D.P.H.) from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the United States.
Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in General Agriculture from the William V.S. Tubman University in Liberia and later completed a Master of Science degree in Horticultural Science at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences – SLU in Alnarp, Sweden.
During his time at William V.S. Tubman University, Dr. Davis served in student leadership, where he gained recognition for his commitment to advocacy, leadership, and public service.
Those experiences, supporters say, helped shape his passion for community development and public engagement.
Backers of the young academic believe that his strong educational credentials, professional expertise, and community-centered vision make him a promising prospective candidate to represent the people of electoral district 3 in the House of Representatives.
