GRAND KRU COUNTY — After nearly five years of operating under intense heat and unreliable internet connectivity, Voice of Grand Kru 98.1 FM has received a major technological boost with the installation of an air-conditioning system and Starlink internet service.
The intervention was made possible through a donation from NAFFA Director J. Cyrus Saygbe Sr., aimed at improving the station’s working conditions and strengthening its broadcasting capacity.
The newly installed air-conditioning system is expected to provide journalists and technical staff with a more comfortable and conducive working environment, while the Starlink service will enhance the station’s access to online news, research materials, social media platforms and other digital resources essential to modern journalism.
Station Manager James Karway Suah praised Saygbe for the timely intervention, describing the support as a significant boost to the station’s operations and staff.
Suah also called on other individuals, organizations and businesses to emulate the gesture by supporting community media institutions, particularly those operating in challenging environments.
The development marks a new chapter for Voice of Grand Kru 98.1 FM, as the station seeks to improve its working environment, strengthen digital connectivity and enhance its ability to serve listeners across Grand Kru County.
The management says the improved facilities will contribute to more efficient broadcasting and better delivery of information to the public.
