Monrovia, Liberia — Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Konneh has confirmed receiving a letter from the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police (LNP), requesting evidence to substantiate his public statements concerning the ongoing cocaine case.
Senator Konneh disclosed that the Senate Committee on Security has reviewed the communication from the police chief.
According to Senator Konneh, he has instructed his lawyers to formally acknowledge receipt of the letter and respond through the appropriate channels.
“I can confirm that I received a letter from the IG of LNP requesting evidence of my public statements about the cocaine case,” Senator Konneh said.
He added that the matter has been reviewed by the Senate Committee on Security, while declining to provide further details on the substance of his response.
The development comes amid heightened public and political attention surrounding Liberia’s ongoing investigation into the cocaine case.
