Samuel L. Kartee has resigned as Chairman and member of the Unity Party (UP)-Nimba County Youth Congress, bringing to an end more than two decades of active service within the governing party.
Kartee tendered his resignation in a formal letter addressed to UP-Nimba County Chairman Hon. D. Nelson Bearngar, citing “pressing family engagements” as the reason for his immediate departure.
In the letter, Kartee said his decision was difficult but expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Unity Party and contribute to the organization, growth and representation of young people in Nimba County.
“My years of service from 2005 to 2026 have afforded me invaluable experiences, meaningful relationships and lessons that I will cherish,” Kartee stated.
His resignation comes after approximately 21 years of political involvement with the Unity Party, during which he served in youth leadership and other party-related capacities.
Kartee also thanked President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, whom he described as the First Partisan of the Unity Party, as well as the national party leadership, his colleagues, and members and supporters of the Nimba County Youth Congress for the confidence and cooperation extended to him during his tenure.
The resignation effectively removes Kartee from both his leadership position and membership within the UP-Nimba County Youth Congress.
