Authorities in Liberia have taken custody of a 202.5-kilogram shipment that arrived at Roberts International Airport (RIA) from Malaysia and was declared as containing “botanical powder, coffee, and candy.”
The shipment is now under investigation by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), and other government agencies following concerns that the contents could include narcotics.
Security authorities say samples from the shipment are undergoing testing to determine whether the declared products contain controlled or illicit substances.
Officials have not yet confirmed the nature of the contents, pending the outcome of the laboratory analysis. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact composition and intended purpose of the shipment.
