MARGIBI COUNTY — A prominent political voice and stakeholder in Margibi County, Vandi Koroma, has called on the government of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to pay greater attention to the immediate economic challenges facing ordinary Liberians.
Koroma said that while the government may pursue long-term development projects, citizens must also see tangible improvements in their daily lives, particularly in food security, education and household income.
“You will do all the long-term development, but if the voters go to bed with hunger, children’s school fees aren’t taken care of, and father can’t provide food for his home, you will be voted out,” Koroma stated.
He emphasized that government development efforts should be accompanied by measures that enable families to meet their basic needs.
Koroma concluded with the phrase, “An empty bag can’t stand,” stressing the importance of addressing the immediate economic concerns of citizens.
