MONROVIA, Liberia — The Ministry of Health has begun distributing medical equipment and essential supplies to health facilities across Liberia as part of efforts to strengthen maternal, newborn and child healthcare services.
The latest consignment, procured by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Health, is being distributed from the Central Medical Store in Montserrado County.
According to the Ministry, the equipment and supplies are intended to complement the ongoing quarterly drug distribution and improve the capacity of health facilities to provide essential healthcare services.
The consignment includes supplies and equipment covering several areas of healthcare, including maternal and newborn care, pediatrics, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia and critical care, among other specialized services.
The Ministry said the distribution is part of its continued efforts to equip health facilities with the necessary tools and resources to enable healthcare workers to provide timely and quality services.
The initiative places particular emphasis on strengthening services for women, newborns and children, who require access to essential and specialized healthcare at health facilities across the country.
