Across Liberia, once-dusty football grounds are being transformed into modern artificial pitches, giving grassroots football a major boost and creating better spaces for young talents to develop. The once-dusty Willie D. Knuckles field in Duport Road, Paynesville, has now been upgraded to a modern football pitch.
Liberia Football Association (LFA) writes: “From dusty ground to modern artificial pitch – the LFA has completed the installation of modern artificial pitch at the Willie D. Knuckles field in Duport Road, Paynesville.
The new pitch features a durable, modern artificial turf system designed to provide a safe and consistent playing surface.
The installation will help improve access to reliable sporting facilities and support training, competitions, youth development, and community activities.
The project includes the preparation of the playing area, installation of the artificial turf system, appropriate drainage and ground works, line marking, and associated finishing works to ensure the pitch meets the required standards for safe and effective sporting use.
This project increases the number of completed artificial pitches to nine (9), with additional projects underway.”
