Monrovia, Liberia, September 30, 2026 — Liberia’s Lone Star suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to Mali’s Eagles at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, as Mali secured another important three points in the race to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
After a tightly contested encounter that remained goalless for more than an hour, Mali finally broke Liberia’s resistance in the 79th minute. The goal from League 2 club Stade de Reims playmaker, Ange Tia, secured a win for Mali in Monrovia.
Lone Star previously lost to Rwanda 3–1 in Kigali on September 25, 2026.
