The Sexual Offenses Division of the Tenth Judicial Circuit Court in Voinjama, Lofa County, has sentenced three defendants to 15 years each for gang rape, following their guilty pleas.
The ruling, issued on September 29, 2026, by Resident Circuit Judge Anthony D. Kollie, named James Y. Kollie, Prince Junior, and Prince T. Mulbah among five defendants charged in connection with an alleged incident involving a female victim identified in court records by the initials K.Y.
According to the court, the three defendants pleaded guilty during arraignment on September 18 and were subsequently adjudged guilty after the court determined that their pleas were knowingly and voluntarily made.
However, the court suspended five years of each 15-year sentence based on mitigating circumstances and a probation report, meaning the three are to serve 10 years in prison.
Following their release, they are required to report monthly to the Lofa County Bureau of Probation Service for five years and must not engage in criminal activity. Violation of the probation conditions could result in activation of the suspended five years.
Meanwhile, the other two defendants, Guwor Kollison and Albert Thomas, pleaded not guilty. Their cases were severed and remain pending trial.
