Nimba County Superintendent madam Kou Meapeh Gono has announced plans for the construction of three modern schools in the county, with funding from Cavalla Resources Incorporated, the company expected to begin mining operations in Kitoma.
The Superintendent said the projects covering Central High, Dahnlorpa and Kitoma have been forwarded to the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) for public bidding.
She said the initiative followed her appeal to the Nimba County Council, stressing that the county would not wait on the Ministry of Education to address the educational needs of residents.
The Superintendent also disclosed that she recently received what he described as a deeply touching letter from a citizen of Garplay, District #4, which prompted her to personally call the sender.
“Thanks for touching me in ways like NO OTHER,” he wrote, while withholding the citizen’s identity for unspecified reasons, she noted.
