Jallah Faces Court for Alleged Murder of Girlfriend and Assault of Sister

Monrovia, Liberia – A 38-year-old man, Bill Jallah, has been formally charged and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court following allegations of murder, attempted murder, and aqgravated assault. The Liberia National Police have accused Jallah of fatally stabbing his girlfriend, Princess Zuo, and attacking his sister, Kormassa Jallah, during a violent confrontation in the Duport Road area of Paynesville.

According to police investigations, the incident began on Saturday, December 21, 2024, when Zuo arranged to meet Jallah at an entertainment center, Fast Nikel, Located near the Kool FM Radio Station. The meeting, intended to discuss Jallah’s recent behavior, quickly turned confrontational. Eyewitness accounts suggest that Jallah became enraged when Zuo raised concerns about his actions and referenced complaints she had made to his family.

Reports indicate that the argument escalated after Jallah questioned Zuo’s whereabouts the previous Friday night, accusing her of spending time with friends without informing him. Zuo, visiblų upset by the exchange, attempted to leave the venue, grabbing her bag and walking toward the Duport Road Junction. However, Jallah reportedly followed her, blocking her path and preventing her departure.

Eyewitnesses allege that the situation spiraled out of control when Jallah pulled out a knife and attacked Zuo, inflicting multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen. Despite immediate efforts by bystanders to rush her to ELWA Hospital, Zuo was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The police investigation revealed that Jallah had arrived at the meeting armed with a knife, a move they described as premeditated. Jallah, however, denied these claims, insisting he only had meat skewers purchased earlier at the entertainment center.

The incident also resulted in injuries to Jallah’s sister, Kormassa, who reportedly intervened during the confrontation. She suffered stab wounds to her arm and was transported to a local hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Police say her testimony will be critical in building the case against her brother.

This tragic event has generated widespread outrage, with citizens calling for swift justice. Advocacy groups have condemned the act, emphasizing the need for stronger protections against gender-based violence and harsher penalties for offenders.

Jallah faces charges under Sections 14.1 and 14.20 of the Liberia Penal Code, which address murder and aggravated assault. The Liberia National Police have stated that evidence, including witness testimonies, firmly implicates him in the crimes.

As the case moves to court, public attention remains focused on ensuring accountability. The gruesome nature of the incident has reignited discussions about violence against women and the role of law enforcement in preventing such tragedies.

Meanwhile, family members and friends of Zuo are left mourning the loss of a young woman whose life was cut short in an act of violence that has shaken the Paynesville community. Many have joined calls for reforms to address the root causes of domestic violence and provide greater support for victims.
