The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) is set to host a crucial workshop from January 9 to January 11, 2025, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex.
The workshop aims to strengthen the effective execution of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Budget.
This workshop is designed to refresh and deepen the understanding of fiscal rules, budget execution procedures, and reporting among policymakers and technical staff from various spending entities.
It is a key initiative aimed at equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and tools to ensure the efficient and responsible use of public funds, ultimately meeting the needs of Liberian citizens while supporting the government’s broader development objectives.
According to a statement from the MFDP, the workshop’s primary goals include ensuring the FY2025 budget is executed in alignment with the approved National Budget, deepening the understanding of fiscal rules and procedures related to budget execution, monitoring, and reporting, strengthening the capacity of spending entities to provide timely and accurate financial and performance reports, and fostering better inter- and intra-ministerial coordination to promote efficient, accountable, and responsible use of public funds.
596 participants will attend, representing officials from 108 federal spending entities.
The first two days of the workshop will involve all participants, while the final day will focus specifically on spending entities responsible for implementing various projects.
