Liberia’s celebrated gospel icon, Ambassador Marron D. Cassell, received a warm and spirited welcome on Saturday, November 15, 2025, as she returned home after several years in the United States.
Cassell, one of Liberia’s most influential gospel voices, arrived at Roberts International Airport to cheers from fellow artists, including Minister Maricle Kettor, along with friends, fans, and family members. The gathering marked an emotional homecoming for the artist, whose music has long resonated with Liberians both at home and abroad.
Speaking to journalists upon her return at the Roberts International Airport, Amb. Cassell expressed gratitude for the reception and urged Liberians to join her for the upcoming “Arise Liberia” concert scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.
“I’m so grateful to received with this honor” she said “I encourage all Liberians to come and celebrate God,” emphasizing that the event is designed to unite the nation in worship, uplift spirits, and inspire national pride.
Amb. Marron Cassell has spent years abroad, dedicating her time to gospel ministry and cultural outreach. Her return, she said, marks a renewed chapter in her mission to use music as a tool for healing and national reflection.
Known for her powerful and prophetic gospel sound, Cassell has built a remarkable catalogue over the years. Her 2012 compilation, Best of Marron Cassell Gospel, featured 32 tracks and ran more than three hours—cementing her reputation as one of Liberia’s most enduring gospel artists.
Among her patriotic works is All Hail Liberia, a gospel tribute that blends spiritual devotion with national pride. Another of her widely recognized songs, containing the line “Liberiaaaa, sweet land of liberty… you will rise, you will shine…”, became a hopeful anthem during Liberia’s post-war recovery.
The “Arise Liberia” concert is expected to draw thousands and feature several of Liberia’s top gospel and secular entertainers. Organizers describe it as a “musical extravaganza” and a national celebration of faith, culture, and unity.

Cassell’s return comes at a time when Liberia continues to reflect on its identity, cultural heritage, and collective aspirations. The “Arise Liberia” theme underscores a national call to rise in faith, creativity, and unity.
For many, her personal journey marked by ministry, expatriation, cultural advocacy, and now homecoming, mirrors the broader resilience of Liberia itself. The concert, supporters say, is poised to be more than an entertainment event; it is shaping up to be a national rallying point for hope and revival.
