The GSM Company, Lonestar Cell MTN GSM, has blamed the network outage on what it termed as an “unexpected act of God” which led to a severe lighting strike that significantly damaged its powerhouse and network nodes.
The GSM Company on short notice informed millions of subscribers that the bad network they are faced with is due to an ‘unexpected act of God’.
Lonestar Cell MTN expressed profound regrets over the current network outage.
“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused by today’s network outage, which was due to an unexpected act of God- a service lightning strike that significantly damaged our powerhouse and network nodes,” the notice highlighted.”
The GSM Service provider said it shares the frustration of millions of subscribers, stressing that they are working around the clock to restore their services, including replacing damaged generators and equipment.
For two straight days now, many Liberians subscribing to Lonestar Cell MTN, one of the country’s biggest GSM companies have been struggling with both voice and internet connectivity.
The Lonestar Cell MTN GSM started official operation in Liberia in 2001, during the administration of former Liberia President Charles G. Taylor.
