Monrovia, Liberia — 2 April 2026 — The Acting Chairperson of the National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC–Liberia), Mr. Jonathan K. Weedor, has officially assumed leadership of the Commission, pledging to ensure continuity while implementing necessary reforms.
His assumption of office follows a formal turnover ceremony held on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, at NEC headquarters on 9th Street, Sinkor, Monrovia.
During the ceremony, outgoing NEC Chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah, handed over key institutional documents, including a comprehensive turnover note detailing financial reports and critical operational updates.
