Activist Printiss Domah Makes History as First Liberian to be Kofi Annan Changemaker

In a groundbreaking achievement, Printiss Domah has become the first Liberian ever selected to join the prestigious Kofi Annan Changemakers Initiative, a global leadership program launched by the Kofi Annan Foundation to empower young leaders under the age of 30 who are committed to creating positive change in their communities.

Domah, a passionate youth activist from Nimba County, joins a cohort of 14 exceptional young leaders from across the globe for the 2025 edition of the year-long program. The initiative, established in 2021, includes intergenerational dialogue, workshops and encounters, and personalized mentorship, equipping participants with the tools and support needed to amplify their impact.

The Office of the Superintendent of Nimba County extended its congratulations to Domah, with Superintendent Kou Meapeh Gono issuing a heartfelt statement lauding the young changemaker’s accomplishment.

“It is with deep pride and overwhelming joy that I extend my warmest congratulations to Mr. Printiss Domah on his historic selection as the first Liberian to participate in the internationally renowned Kofi Annan Changemakers Program,” the release says.

“His selection reflects not only his tireless commitment to positive change but also the strength, brilliance, and potential of Liberia’s youth. As he prepares to represent Liberia in Geneva this November, we celebrate this incredible accomplishment and encourage him to continue raising the flag of Liberia high with humility, grace, and purpose.”

Domah, known for his work in youth empowerment, civic engagement, and democratic governance, responded with humility and hope in a statement posted to social media:

“My selection as the first ever Liberian to be a part of the Kofi Annan Changemakers Program is a feat not for me alone, but for Liberian youths—especially those working in rural communities where access to national and global platforms is extremely limited.”

He expressed optimism that the opportunity would deepen his understanding of ethical leadership and help scale his civic engagement efforts across Nimba County and Liberia at large. Domah also extended gratitude to the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD) for nominating him, NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development for their technical support, and to the youth, students, media, and supporters of his advocacy work.

As he prepares to take the global stage in Geneva later this year, Domah’s selection stands as a powerful reminder of the potential of Liberian youth—and a call to continue investing in the next generation of changemakers.
