Monrovia, Liberia— In a significant diplomatic engagement, Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), is set to visit Liberia at the invitation of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. The visit is slated for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, and will take place at the Theater of the EJS Ministerial Complex, commencing at 10:45 AM.
According to a foreign Ministry release, Dr. Adesina will deliver a key address at a high-level forum attended by Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Assistant Ministers, as well as Heads and Deputies of various State-Owned Enterprises, Commissions, and Agencies. The theme of the forum is “Liberia, Arise and Shine!” highlighting a renewed call for progress and development within the country.
The visit will also include a momentous occasion where President Boakai will honor Dr. Adesina for his invaluable contributions to Africa’s development, particularly in supporting initiatives that benefit Liberia.
A highlight of the event will be the launch of the Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Bank (YEIB), a collaborative project between the AfDB and other partners. The initiative aims to empower youth-led enterprises in Liberia, fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth among the younger population.
This visit underscores the AfDB’s commitment to enhancing economic development in Liberia and promoting sustainable investments for the youth, ultimately driving the nation towards a brighter future.
