Armed Forces of Liberia Announces Delay in October Salary

In an official communication dated October 30, 2024, the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) informed its personnel of a delay in salary disbursements for October.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) notified the AFL headquarters of the delay, sparking concerns about potential financial hardships for AFL members and their families.

The notice, signed by Lt. Col. RT Jadoe, Chief of Staff (COS) of the AFL, expressed regret over the situation and acknowledged the difficulties it may cause.

AFL leadership reassured personnel that they are working with relevant authorities to resolve the issue and expedite payments. “The High Command of the AFL regrets the situation and is concerned about the potential hardships this delay will cause personnel of the AFL and their dependents,” the statement read.

Lt. Col. Jadoe directed senior staff and unit commanders to inform their personnel about the delay and to encourage patience, resilience, and professionalism.

He praised AFL members for their dedication and discipline in challenging times, highlighting the AFL’s reputation as a “Force for Good.”

“I am compelled to add that personnel of the AFL have always demonstrated resilience, dedication, and discipline in the face of challenges,” Lt. Col. Jadoe stated, urging members to uphold these values as they work through the setback together.

Efforts are underway to expedite the disbursement process, with the leadership committed to keeping personnel updated on developments. The AFL leadership expressed hope for a quick resolution, assuring personnel that their well-being remains a top priority.
