Kolahun, Lofa County – The Association of the Gbandi Land in America (AGLA) has made a significant contribution to the healthcare system in the Gbandi chiefdom by donating essential medical materials to Kolahun Hospital. This donation comes as part of AGLA’s commitment to enhancing health care and ensuring the well-being of citizens in the region.
During the donation ceremony, representatives from AGLA presented the medical supplies to Dr. Vamuyan Koroma, the medical doctor at Kolahun Hospital. In his remarks, Dr. Koroma expressed heartfelt gratitude towards AGLA for their generous support, emphasizing the critical role that such contributions play in improving health services within the chiefdom and the surrounding areas.
“This donation is not just about materials; it represents hope and a commitment to better healthcare for our community,” Dr. Koroma stated. He urged other organizations and individuals to take inspiration from AGLA’s gesture, highlighting that health is a fundamental aspect of life and should be prioritized.
The ceremony was also attended by prominent leaders, including Paramount Chief Hon. Jallah Manjoe and Kolahun District Commissioner Hon. Joseph K. Yakoi. Both officials recognized AGLA’s efforts as commendable and essential for the development of the Gbandi chiefdom. They expressed their appreciation for the donations and called on community members and local organizations to contribute to the betterment of the hospital and the overall health of the population.
“It is important for us to rally together as a community and support our healthcare facilities,” said Chief Manjoe. “The staff at Kolahun Hospital are dedicated, and it is our responsibility to ensure they have the resources needed to provide quality care.”
Commissioner Yakoi echoed these sentiments, highlighting the vital role that healthcare plays in the lives of citizens and encouraging more collaborations that aim to uplift the Gbandi chiefdom.
The donation of medical materials not only enhances the capacity of Kolahun Hospital but also signals a larger effort toward improving healthcare in Lower Lofa County.
