Bility Concedes Speakership Defeat, Hails Democratic Process

Monrovia, Liberia–Following the House of Representatives Speakership election, Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Hassan Bility conceded defeat while affirming his unwavering commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law.
Bility posted on social media a few minutes after he lost the Speakership election saying that democracy has been restored to the 55th Legislature.

“We lost an election. But democracy has been restored to the House of Representatives. Liberia wins. The rule of law wins,” Bility declared.

Representing Montserrado Electoral District #11, Koon secured victory over Rep. Musa Hassan Bility of Nimba County District #7 with a vote margin of 43 to 26.

Bility, who had vied for a key leadership position in the 55th House of Representative remarks, signaled a call for unity and respect for democratic processes.

Bility’s concession comes after weeks of political tension and procedural deadlocks in the legislature.

As the dust settles, all eyes now turn to the new leadership’s ability to unify the fractured House and advance the national agenda.

Meanwhile, Bility has pledged to remain an active voice in the chamber, advocating for transparency, reform, and constitutional order.
