Bill Jallah Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Murder of Princess Zuo Wesseh

Criminal Court “B” at the First Judicial Circuit in Montserrado County has sentenced Bill Jallah to life imprisonment for the gruesome murder of Princess Zuo Wesseh and the attempted murder of his own sister, Komassah Jallah, during a violent altercation in December 2024.

In a detailed ruling delivered on Monday, September 22, 2025, His Honor Wesseh Alphonsus Wesseh, Sr., presiding judge, found Jallah guilty of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, describing the act as “premeditated, savage, and depraved.”

The crime occurred on Saturday, December 21, 2024, when Jallah, under what the court described as “extreme indifference to the value of human life,” stabbed Princess Wesseh multiple times at a local entertainment center, “Fast Nickel,” located on Duport Road, Paynesville.

The court established that Jallah concealed a silver knife beneath his clothes and followed the victim as she attempted to leave the premises, stabbing her in the chest, neck, arm, and back.

Eyewitnesses, including staff from the bar and responding police officers, corroborated the events leading up to the murder.

The prosecution produced three key witnesses and presented forensic evidence, including photographs and coroner reports confirming the fatal wounds.

The defendant, who initially attempted to enter a plea bargaining agreement, later pleaded guilty but was denied leniency due to the nature of the crime.

The court rejected the plea deal on grounds that murder is a capital offense under Liberian law, punishable only by death or life imprisonment.

In his testimony, Jallah claimed memory loss of the incident and expressed remorse, asking for forgiveness from the deceased’s family and the state. However, the court emphasized that remorse does not absolve responsibility for such a heinous act.

In his final ruling, Judge Wesseh stated: “The defendant, with savage, depraved, and premeditated mind, caused, planned and executed his devilish act… His confession and the testimonies of state witnesses leave no room for doubt.”

The court has instructed the Clerk to forward a mandate to the Superintendent of the Monrovia Central Prison to immediately enforce the life sentence.
