Monrovia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has issued a stern warning to members of his administration, cautioning that any government official found working to undermine the government will be immediately dismissed.
Speaking during a Special Cabinet Meeting held Thursday in Monrovia, the Liberian leader expressed concern about what he described as potential acts of disloyalty within the government, stressing that such behavior would not be tolerated.
“For those of you who are in government and want to serve as underminers of the same government, mind you, if we find out about you, I promise you, you will be fired,” President Boakai warned.
The President’s remarks appeared aimed at reinforcing discipline and loyalty within the administration as it continues efforts to implement its policy agenda and reform programs.
While the President did not mention specific individuals or incidents, his statement underscored growing concerns about internal divisions and actions that could weaken the government’s work.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai emphasized that officials appointed to public service must demonstrate commitment to national development and the collective goals of the administration.
Observers say the warning signals the President’s determination to maintain unity within his government and ensure that those entrusted with public responsibility act in the best interest of the country.
The Special Cabinet Meeting was part of ongoing consultations by the President with senior government officials on governance priorities and performance across various sectors.
