Bong County Authorities Celebrate Groundbreaking of Kolietawolah Junior High School

Kolietawolah, Bong County – Authorities in Bong County have officially broken grounds to construct the Kolietawolah Junior High School, a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure in Electoral District #2. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, and was attended by community leaders, educators, and local residents, marking a pivotal moment for youth empowerment in the region.

Senator Prince K. Moye and District #2 Representative James Kolleh announced that the school’s construction is funded by a $75,000 allocation from the County Development Fund. During the ceremony, Senator Moye urged local residents to take ownership of the project, stating, “This is your project. We are encouraging everyone to take ownership and ensure it succeeds so that similar development can be replicated in other communities across the county.”

Representative Kolleh echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that community involvement is crucial for the timely and successful completion of the school. “With your support, we can make this project a reality for the children of Kolietawolah,” he remarked.

D. Sam Baryougah Elliott Sr., the County Administrative Officer representing the Office of the County Superintendent, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering a modern and well-equipped junior high school. He expressed confidence that construction would be completed by the start of the next academic year in September, underscoring that Kolietawolah deserves improved educational opportunities.

The event was a celebration of collective efforts toward educational development, with gratitude extended to the Bong Legislative Caucus for its support in prioritizing such initiatives. The attendees recognized this development as a long-awaited milestone for the community, promising a positive impact on future generations.

Construction is expected to begin immediately following the ceremony, paving the way for enhanced educational prospects for the youth of Kolietawolah.
