Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) on Monday invited prominent businessman and lawyer, Mr. George Kailondo, to answer questions after one of his trucks was allegedly linked to a drug trafficking case.
According to the LDEA, Mr. Kailondo was summoned at 10:00 a.m. along with his son to appear at the agency’s headquarters in Monrovia for further investigation.
In an earlier interview, Mr. Kailondo denied any connection to the matter, stating that he did not know the driver and that the truck in question was not his. However, a source within the LDEA told Verity Newspaper that investigators have since verified the truck as belonging to him.
The questioning of Mr. Kailondo a well-known figure in Liberia’s business and legal circles has drawn mixed reactions from the public. Some have called for a thorough and transparent investigation to ensure accountability, while others have cautioned against rushing to judgment until the facts are fully established.
