Isaac Doe, a senior member of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), has publicly apologized for circulating false information suggesting that former George Manneh Weah contacted Emmanuel Macron to intervene in the Liberia–Guinea border dispute.
In a statement, Doe admitted that his earlier post, which claimed to be based on “someone with direct knowledge,” was inaccurate. He emphasized the importance of accepting mistakes and making corrections, writing, “I graciously accept wrong when I am wrong and make the necessary adjustments to be correct the next time.”
Doe also praised Weah’s office for issuing a timely clarification, calling it a demonstration of “responsible leadership and maturity.” He urged followers to rely on verified information and reiterated the value of accountability in public communication.
“We are never too big to be wrong. Once we are wrong, we take responsibility of it. In this case, my information was inaccurate and we have since spoken about that,” Doe said.
