Monrovia, Liberia – The opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has announced plans to construct a new national headquarters in Congo Town, with work expected to be completed within one year.
Speaking Monday on OK FM, Mr. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, Chief of Staff to former President George M. Weah, disclosed that the party will this evening announce a special building committee to oversee the project.
“Tonight, the building committee will be announced. In fact, when the former President returns from abroad, we will hold a groundbreaking ceremony, and within a year, the new CDC headquarters will be completed,” Mr. Nagbe stated.
The disclosure comes in the wake of the party’s recent eviction from its headquarters in Congo Town. Mr. Nagbe explained that during the process, he contacted Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman to request a short extension until Wednesday. However, he said the Police Chief insisted on going ahead with the eviction as planned.
The CDC has yet to reveal the cost of the new building, but party executives say the project will symbolize the CDC’s resilience and commitment to its supporters.
