Cestos City, Rivercess County — The Cestos Eco Brigade has issued a strong public appeal to the Cestos City Corporation to designate an official waste disposal site.
This request comes as the group enters its second week of a major 20-day sanitation and awareness campaign, aimed at transforming the city’s public health and environmental standards.
Field Supervisor Mr. Melvin Yorna, emphasized that while the ongoing cleanup efforts are yielding visible results, the absence of a central waste disposal facility remains a critical obstacle.
“We are doing our part—cleaning, educating, engaging,” said Mr. Yorna. “But without a proper waste site, we risk undoing all of this progress. We need a structured solution to keep our streets clean long-term.”
Mr. Yorna highlighted that the current campaign—launched in partnership with the Cestos City Corporation—serves not only to clean the city but to raise widespread awareness about sanitation practices.
He praised the unity and commitment of the Eco Brigade team, stating that their cooperation has been key to the campaign’s early success.
The push for a waste disposal site is seen by many as a necessary next step in institutionalizing the gains of the campaign and establishing a sustainable waste management system.
