Classes Suspended at Tubman High as Seniors Protest Withheld WAEC Results

Classes at Tubman High School in Monrovia have been disrupted for the second consecutive day as outgoing 12th graders protest the withholding of their Mathematics results by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

The students, who gathered on campus early Tuesday morning, are demanding the immediate release of their results, claiming the delay is affecting their graduation process and future academic plans.

According to reports, WAEC withheld the Mathematics results of several students over alleged exam malpractice and collusion during the recent West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The ongoing protest has led to a suspension of normal academic activities at the school, with administrators and teachers struggling to restore calm.

One protesting student, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “We studied hard and wrote our exams. It’s unfair for WAEC to punish everyone because of a few people. We just want our results so we can move forward.”

School authorities have called on the Ministry of Education and WAEC to intervene swiftly to resolve the matter and prevent further disruption.

As of Tuesday evening, the situation remained tense on the Tubman High campus, with students vowing to continue their protest until their results are released.
