The Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) has formally acknowledged the resignation of Madam Grace Renelle Guar, who until October 25, 2025, served as Chairperson of the organization’s USA/Canada Chapter.
According to a press statement issued by the CMC’s Media and Communications Director, Smith M. Toby, Madam Guar’s resignation marks the end of an era of strong leadership and passionate commitment to the movement’s goals of unity, accountability, and patriotism among Liberians in the diaspora.
Mr. Toby described Madam Guar as “an integral part of the CMC’s formative journey,” noting that her leadership and dedication played a vital role in establishing a vibrant diaspora chapter that continues to inspire Liberians abroad.
“While we regret her departure, we deeply respect her decision and the sincerity with which she has expressed it. Leadership often means following one’s convictions, even when paths diverge,” the release quoted Mr. Toby as saying.
He further emphasized that Madam Guar’s courage to act on her beliefs reflects the independent spirit and integrity upon which the CMC was founded.
The CMC expressed gratitude for her service and the positive contributions she made to the organization, highlighting that the foundation she helped build “will remain an enduring part of the CMC’s story.”
On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the CMC family worldwide, CMC’s Political Leader, Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, extended heartfelt appreciation to Madam Guar and wished her well in her future endeavors.
“Though our organizational paths may differ, our shared dream of a peaceful and prosperous Liberia continues to unite us in purpose and hope,” the statement concluded.
