CMC Political Leader, Rep. Musa Bility, says he will end corruption in Liberia if elected as President in 2029.

Monrovia, Liberia — Musa Hassan Bility, political leader of the Citizen Movement for Change (CMC) and a Representative for Nimba County District Seven, has sharply criticized Liberia’s current and past leadership, accusing successive governments of corruption, unfulfilled promises, and poor governance that he said have stalled national development.

Speaking during a political engagement, Bility said both the ruling Unity Party and the former Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) have failed to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of ordinary Liberians. He pointed to persistent challenges such as high unemployment, limited access to healthcare, and inadequate infrastructure, particularly in rural communities, as evidence of systemic governance failures.

“Liberians continue to suffer while those in power make promises that are never fulfilled,” Bility said, adding that corruption remains a major obstacle to development and public trust.

Bility pledged that the CMC would prioritize the fight against corruption if given the opportunity to govern, while focusing on job creation to restore dignity and economic opportunity for citizens. He emphasized that employment and basic social services would be central to the party’s development agenda.

Highlighting what he described as early successes by the CMC, Bility cited infrastructure improvements and community-based support initiatives in areas where the movement has influence. He said these efforts demonstrate the party’s commitment to practical solutions rather than political rhetoric.

Looking ahead, Bility outlined ambitious plans for 2026, including the construction of bridges and other key infrastructure projects in underserved counties. He described the year as a potential turning point for Liberia, positioning the CMC as a vehicle for national renewal.

According to Bility, the movement aims to lead Liberia toward a more prosperous and accountable future, grounded in transparency, development, and the fulfillment of long-standing promises to the Liberian people.
