This paper has received credible reports from multiple sources on Capitol Hill that there are ongoing discussions and plans by majority lawmakers to impeach Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah.
Recently, Rep. Kolubah publicly claimed that the disputed territories at the Liberia-Guinea border belong to Guinea, and not Liberia. Accordingly, public officials in Guinea, including the Deputy Defense Minister, have since used Rep. Kolubah’s statement to further justify Guinea’s ongoing “territorial aggression” intended to allegedly encroach on Liberia’s land.
Our sources say most lawmakers, including Rep. Sumo Mulbah of Montserrado District #3, consider Rep. Kolubah’s action as an impeachable offense. Rep. Mulbah said Kolubah breached his oath of office, pursuant to Article 49 and Article 53. He argued that Kolubah should be charged for treason, sedition, and a breach of national security.

By publicly advocating for the surrender of Liberian territory to a foreign power, your statements may be construed as an attempt to subject the Republic to foreign dominion, a criterion for treason under Section 11.1 of the Penal Law. Sedition and Internal Security: Under Chapter 11, Section 11.12 of the Penal Law, actions that incite instability or undermine the security of the state regarding its borders can be classified as seditious. Your remarks have the potential to incite local unrest in border communities and weaken Liberia’s position in international diplomatic negotiations.” Hon.
