A dramatic 80th-minute strike from Lassana Kamara sealed a hard-fought 1–0 football victory for Bong County over rival Nimba on Sunday at the David Koyan Sports Stadium.
Kamara’s stunning effort from outside the 18-yard box electrified the stadium, lifting fans to their feet as the home side secured all three points. His perfectly placed shot broke the deadlock after a tense match in which Nimba dominated the first half but failed to convert their early chances.
The Kpata-Wee Boys looked promising throughout, showing clear improvement following several tactical adjustments by their coach. However, their momentum faded late in the second half, allowing Kamara to capitalize and deliver the decisive blow.
Despite the football setback, Nimba found redemption on the kickball field. After seven innings of intense play, Nimba edged Bong County 1–0 to claim victory in the kickball match.
The split results added excitement to the ongoing county sports festivities, leaving fans from both sides with moments to celebrate.
