Court Summons Hassan Fadiga and Brother in $3 Million Libel Case

Monrovia, Liberia – The Sixth Judicial Circuit Civil Law Court has summoned former Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Deputy Director for Operations Hassan Fadiga and his twin brother, Hussein Fadiga, in a $3 million libel lawsuit filed by former LDEA Director General Abraham Kromah. The case is set to be heard under the jurisdiction of Resident Judge Kennedy Peabody.

According to judicial sources, Kromah alleges that the Fadigas engaged in a smear campaign against him, causing significant damage to his reputation. The former LDEA boss is demanding $2 million in special damages, claiming the defendants’ statements led to financial and professional losses.

In a ten-count petition, Kromah accuses Hassan Fadiga of incompetence in handling illicit drugs and contraband in Liberia. He further claims that Hassan established a parallel command structure within the LDEA, disregarding the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures and undermining the chain of command. Kromah contends that such actions exposed Hassan’s lack of knowledge in managing a paramilitary institution.

The lawsuit also implicates Hussein Fadiga, who Kromah describes as a self-proclaimed social commentator and political analyst. Kromah asserts that Hussein joined his brother in spreading false allegations, particularly during public discussions on platforms such as Spoon Talk. He accuses Hussein of falsely linking him to a notorious Nigerian drug trafficker known as “Japan.”

Kromah maintains that he played a central role in the arrest and prosecution of Japan long before Hassan Fadiga’s appointment to the LDEA. To support his claims, he promises to provide evidence proving that at the time of Japan’s apprehension, Hassan was not yet an official of the drug enforcement agency.
