CUBEL Honors Charlesville Commissioner Samuel Willie for Outstanding Leadership

Margibi County — Citizens United for Better Liberia (CUBEL) has honored Charlesville Township Commissioner Samuel Willie as an “Most Outstanding Commissioner,” recognizing his leadership and developmental efforts in the township.

CUBEL, a civic organization known for celebrating exemplary public service across Liberia, said the award reflects Commissioner Willie’s impactful performance within a relatively short period.
Presenting the honor, the group’s National Chairman, Kesseley Q. Barzah, praised the commissioner for what he described as “meaningful development driven by service-oriented leadership.”

According to Barzah, key achievements under Commissioner Willie’s administration include the rehabilitation of the township administrative building, the peaceful resolution of longstanding land disputes among residents, and ongoing rehabilitation work on the bridge linking the Snafu Dock community. He also highlighted scholarship opportunities introduced for young people in the township.

Barzah urged the commissioner to remain steadfast in his development agenda, noting that many citizens are closely following and appreciating his work.

As part of the recognition, CUBEL presented Commissioner Willie with a certificate, an African gown, and a sash.

Receiving the award at a well-attended ceremony in Charlesville, Commissioner Willie expressed gratitude to the organization, describing the recognition as a collective achievement.

“This award is not mine alone, but for the people of Charlesville,” said Samuel Willie. “My chiefs, elders, and team members made this possible.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining development initiatives in the township.

Charlesville Township, one of the oldest in Margibi County, was established in 1935 during the presidency of Edwin Barclay. Residents say they are encouraged by the current pace of development under Willie’s leadership.

Meanwhile, members of the township are calling on President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to include Charlesville in the national budget, emphasizing that such support would accelerate development efforts and complement the commissioner’s initiatives.
