Delay in October Salary Payments Due to System Upgrade, Says Finance Ministry

Monrovia – The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) has announced a temporary delay in the payment of October salaries for government employees, citing ongoing technical upgrades at its central data center.

In a release issued through the Office of the Comptroller and Accountant General (CAG), the Ministry explained that while the processing of salaries is currently underway, full payment may extend into the first week of November.

The delay, according to the Ministry, is the result of system enhancements aimed at modernizing the government’s financial management infrastructure and improving data security in salary processing and other financial transactions.

“The Ministry is aware that these delays may cause inconvenience and apologizes to all civil servants and government employees for the delay,” the statement read.

Despite the temporary disruption, the MFDP emphasized its commitment to maintaining its track record of timely salary disbursements. “The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has maintained a strong record of largely being timely in the payment of government salaries and remains firmly committed to upholding this standard,” the release added.

The Ministry concluded by expressing gratitude for the patience and understanding of all government employees as the upgrades are completed.
