District 10 Residents Demand Yekeh Kolubah’s Resignation

Monrovia, Liberia – Tensions are escalating in Montserrado County District #10, as residents on March 3, 2025, called for the immediate resignation of Representative Yekeh Kolubah, warning of impeachment proceedings if he fails to step down.

In a formal resolution identified as District Resolution 001-02-2025, several community groups, including the Progressive Professionals of District 10, the Conscious Minded Youth of District 10, and the Women Movement of District 10, accuse Kolubah of neglecting his legislative duties and engaging in conduct unbecoming of a national leader. These organizations argue that the lawmaker has failed to deliver on his responsibilities while fostering an environment of political chaos and public controversy.

Residents claim that since his election more than seven years ago, Representative Kolubah has not provided a comprehensive report on his work at the Legislature. Community leaders argue that his absence from key district matters has left the constituency without proper representation and a voice in national decision-making. They accuse him of prioritizing personal disputes and political conflicts over addressing the pressing needs of the district.

Local leaders highlight deteriorating infrastructure, poor healthcare services, and the lack of access to clean drinking water as critical issues that have been ignored under Kolubah’s leadership. They also point to the growing drug epidemic affecting the district, which has led to an increase in disadvantaged youth, commonly known as “zogos,” further exacerbating the district’s social challenges.

Another major point of contention is Kolubah’s frequent use of vulgar language during public speeches. Residents argue that his inflammatory rhetoric disrespects the dignity of the Legislature and sets a negative example for the youth. According to community leaders, a national lawmaker should uphold values of integrity and professionalism, traits they believe Kolubah has failed to display.

In response to years of frustration, district leaders have launched a petition to gather signatures in support of impeachment. Organizers say their goal is to restore accountability and ensure the district is represented by someone who prioritizes the people’s interests. They maintain that allowing Kolubah to remain in office without consequences would undermine democratic governance and set a dangerous precedent for future leaders.
