ZWEDRU, Grand Gedeh County – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh County Detachment has announced the arrest of five Guinean nationals on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Zwedru City, on suspicion of drug-related offenses.
The operation, executed at approximately 3:09 PM at Polgal Pharmacy under a search and seizure warrant, resulted in several key confiscations. LDEA officers seized 78 strips and 5 pieces of Tramadol, as well as local and foreign currencies totaling LD660,000 and US500.
Furthermore, the operation uncovered a cache of a weapon and ammunition, including (26) rounds of single-barrel gun ammunition and one single-barrel gun, along with a book.
The arrested suspects, who are all currently detained at the LDEA headquarters in Zwedru for investigation, are identified as:
Amadou Barry, 40
Ashar Barr, 21
Abu Layee Sow, 38
Mamadu Jallah, 25
Alimatu Jallah, 18
Upon the conclusion of the investigation, the LDEA confirmed that all seized items not categorized as drugs will be transferred to the relevant authorities. The drug-related charges will be processed in accordance with the nation’s new drug law.
