Each One, Help One”: AME University Student Launches Peer Assistance Program

In a heartening display of leadership and community spirit, Cyrus B. Gbarwheon, a senior student and President Emeritus of the 24th Sophomore Class at AME University, has officially launched the “Each One, Help One” assistance program on campus.

Unveiled on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the initiative is designed to complement the university administration’s efforts, particularly during the ongoing manual registration process.

The program aims to assist fellow students in navigating campus logistics, academic planning, and overall university life.

“Our goal is simple: to make the student experience smoother and more supportive,” Gbarwheon said during the launch. “Whether it’s helping someone find their department, guiding them through course planning, or tutoring those preparing for the university’s entrance exam — we want no student left behind.”

A Student-Led Support System

“Each One, Help One” will engage experienced students as peer assistants stationed around the campus to:

Assist with course registration and academic planning for the upcoming semester.

Help students locate their respective academic departments and administrative offices.

Familiarize new and returning students with key facilities and procedures across AMEU.

Provide tutorship and mentorship for prospective students preparing to sit the university’s entrance examination.

The initiative comes at a time when AME University is managing registration manually, a process that can be daunting for new enrollees and returning students alike.

Gbarwheon’s program aims to bridge the gap between students and the administration, reducing confusion and creating a more efficient registration experience.

Administration Responds Positively

University officials have expressed appreciation for the student-driven effort.

This is a commendable initiative,” said one administrative staff member. “It shows leadership, empathy, and the kind of proactive spirit we encourage at AME University.”

Students have already begun benefiting from the assistance, with many praising the program for making their registration process faster and less stressful.

Looking Ahead

As the semester approaches, Gbarwheon hopes the program will evolve into a permanent peer-support system that future student leaders can build upon.

This is not just for today,” he emphasized. “It’s about cultivating a culture where we lift each other up — one student at a time.”

With “Each One, Help One,” AME University students are proving that community, collaboration, and compassion are as essential to education as any textbook.
